Shenley & District Horticultural Society

Firstly let me apologise on behalf of the Committee for the cancellation of the December demonstration and talk on Hanging Baskets.  Unfortunately the speaker was taken ill just days before the event and we were unable to find a replacement.  The Committee dedicate a great deal of time and effort in organising and running these talks and we know that many of you were disappointed but it is very much beyond our control when speakers are suddenly taken ill.  

 However we have a very busy Social Calendar lined up for you this year and to get us off to a good start we have arranged a talk and slide show by Shenley resident, Fred Perry, entitled ‘London Through the Ages’ for Friday 15^th February, 8pm in Shenley Village Hall. 

Saturday 1^st March, 7.30 pm Shenley Village Hall brings another of Ken’s popular Quiz Supper’s.  Cost of £7.50 includes supper.  This books up very quickly so phone Ken on 01707 645091 to book your place and order food now.

Then on Friday March 14^th Anne Godfrey will delight us with ideas for flowers that look ‘Good in Bed’ together.  Once again 8pm Shenley Village Hall. 

 For all you budding Show enthusiasts we have a special treat on Thursday 27^th March when one of our Show judges, Peter Morris, will be sharing tips and hints on how to grow good produce for the show bench.  The evening starts earlier than normal at 7.30 pm in Shenley Village Hall.  Don’t forget that non members are very welcome to join us for these social events.
