Shenley United Jewish Committee (United Synagogue)
Introducing SUJC
Over the last few years, there has been a growing Jewish community in the Shenley area. As people have moved beyond the more established areas of Radlett and Borehamwood, there has been a need to create a focus for traditional Jewish activity in Shenley.
With the assistance of the Community Development team from the United Synagogue, this has now become a reality, and Shenley United Jewish Community is a small but growing community with its own membership, services and secular activities.
Our members cover the whole age spectrum from young families through to retirement age. As a new and small community we operate on a very informal, friendly and inclusive basis, and we look forward to meeting you shortly at one of our services or events.
Religious services
We offer a full range of Shul services. Shabbat services are held every second week and usually include a children's service and are followed by a Kiddush.
We have been holding services for festivals since 2001, and now cover all the festivals in the calendar. The Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah services normally attract over a hundred people!
Other activities
The Shul puts on a range of social activities throughout the year, such as our bagel quiz; family picnic; Chanukah party as well as other smaller social get togethers.
There is also a growing range of educational activities for those interested in finding more information on a range of Jewish subjects. Much of this activity is carried out in conjunction with Project SEED.
