Shenley Carpet Bowls Club
The Carpet Bowls Club meets in the Village Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm, and on Wednesdays from 7.30pm - 9.30pm (contact: John Spencer on 853150)
The 1st Shenley Scout Group comprises a Cub pack (7-10 year olds) and a Scout troop (10 to 14 year olds), each of which meets during term time at the Well End Scout Centre. Cubs meet on Thursdays (6 - 7.30 pm), Scouts each Friday (7.30 - 9 pm). New recruits are welcome. To find out more, call Kathy Sales on 01923 854434. Shenley & District Horticultural Society
The Horticultural Society runs a variety of social events for members, as well as the annual competition each September. Members have access to competitively-priced gardening and horticultural supplies at the society's shed near the Green Street allotments, open each Sunday between 9 am to 11 am. Neighbourhood Watch
The Neighbourhood Watch covers most roads in Shenley, and is supported by Hertsmere Borough Neighbourhood Watch and Hertfordshire Constabulary. The Shenley Music & Drama Club was formed earlier this year, and has already attracted a goodly number of members. The workshops are fun and new friendships are being formed. Drama will help you develop your knowledge, skills, capability and give you confidence. Join us and have fun doing it. rosalie.bristow@btinternet.com.Tots & Toddlers meets every Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm in the Old Chapel (contact: Laura on 01923 857493) and every Friday from 1.15pm to 3pm in the Village Hall (contact Nikki Hunter on 01923 854323). The cost is £1.60 for each family (plus some help setting up and putting away), which gets your children the chance to play with great toys and lots of other children, and gives you the opportunity to sit down for a cup of coffee and a natter.
Shenley United Jewish Community
The Shenley United Jewish Community exists to serve members of the Jewish community in and around Shenley, and provides a full range of Shul services as well as organising secular activities. Shenley Village SocietyThe Shenley Village Society comprises a group of villagers whose primary function is to inspire and encourage the preservation and conservation of the village’s heritage and character. It meets approximately six weekly at various members’ homes and monitors important village issues and in particular planning applications.
Membership costs 50p per year (larger donations are appreciated) and this entitles members to two newsletters. The Society holds an AGM and a cheese and wine evening where often a speaker is engaged to present a local topic of interest. Shenley Women's Institute
