MOTHERS UNION (M.U.) ENROLMENT
Men and women, please seriously consider joining our Branch of the Worldwide M.U., working here and in 77 other countries. Baptised members affirm Family Life and give quiet support through Prayer, Love and Service. There are Diocesan projects in Hospitals, Prisons and Contact Centres, Parenting Groups and initiatives reflecting members interests and local need. Money is raised for providing 'Away From It All' holidays here, as well as world-wide relief work and training leaders from indigenous communities. The MU is consulted before any government legislation affecting families. Our representative at the United Nations lives locally and was our previous Diocesan President. The next enrolment day is on Wednesday 3rd September at the 10.30 am Communion Service at Christ Church in Radlett.
Please speak to Rita on 01923 857406 or Mary on 01923 854554 to learn more.

GROWING IN GRACE
A reminder that St Martin's will be launching
our exciting new initiative 'Growing in Grace' on Sunday 28th September. There
will be a special service at 9.30 a.m. when our guest preacher will be Revd Iain
Lane of St Albans Cathedral, so do come and join us. This marks the beginning of
a whole series of events and opportunities to explore how we can best respond to
God's love and His overwhelming generosity towards us, both as individuals and
as a church community, by transforming and developing our
faith, worship, witness and stewardship. Invitations to take part in 'Growing in
Grace' have been sent to all members of St Martin's but if there is anyone in
the wider Shenley community who would like to join us, you are very welcome to
contact Christine Braynis on 01727-827092 for further details. The first events
are planned for the 8th and 11th October and, as we need to plan the catering
for these occasions, please return your reply slips as soon as possible.
September 28th is also the day on which 'Back
to Church Sunday' is being
marked nationwide, and we would like to extend a particularly warm welcome
to anyone who may not have been to church for a while - or at all! - to come
and join us on this special day. We look forward to seeing you!
